Targeting the Supportive Countries’ Interests

Providing direct support by a country to a dictatorial regime in another one is due to the connection between this country’s interests and that regime. This is what makes some of these “Supportive Countries” more hostile to the “Popular Resistance”’ than the despotic state itself, for even after the surrender of the dictator, they keep their ongoing attempts to abort the “change project”. These countries see in the coming change a turn over their regional and economic interests, as well as a threat to the state of internal stability in some of these countries. If we add to the “Connected Interests” factor, the “Sense of Safety” factor, which we mean by that these “Supportive Countries” don’t come into direct contact with the forces of popular change, also they don’t get directly affected by the pressures performed by the people against their dictatorial regime, hence targeting the interests of these countries ensures detaching this “Correlation of Interests” and breaking down the “Safety Barrier”.

“Extended Interests” are considered to be one of the weakness points for any country, because it is an easy target for the “Non-Violent Resistance” powers across the world, exactly as in the case of a big country having sprawling boarders, which it cannot totally secure.

The above explains the importance of targeting these supportive countries’ interests through performing “Non-Violent” operations against significant institutions and bodies for these countries around the world.

The “Operational Purpose” of targeting the interests of these “Supportive Countries” is:

  • Provoke internal public discontent concerning the usefulness of the practices of these countries.
  • Threaten the status of the “Supportive Country”.
  • Deliver a message to the “Supportive Countries” that the cost of providing such assistance is higher than the one resulting from submitting to people’s will, or persuade them to at least remain neutral. Also, advise them that theirinterests are related to the people not the regimes.
  • Force these countries to pay attention to their own issues instead of being preoccupied with providing aid to dictatorships.
  • Expand the front of the participants in the intended change, whether on the action level (where other nations join the battle which reduces the burden on the revolting people and act as a moral lever for tem), or on the geographical level (where activities extend to cover various countries).

Targets are divided into two types:

1-Symbolic Targets: Like embassies, the effect of targeting them is symbolic and makes “Supportive Countries” dissatisfied.

2-Physical Targets: Like economic institutions, major business markets, national products, and airlines…etc. Such targets are dealt with by using the “Non-Violence War” means including sit ins, occupying buildings, implementing strikes, boycotting products or companies…etc.  For more tools you can refer to the armory of “Weapons of the Non-Violence War” in the book that was published by the Academy, holding the same name.

It is essential to illustratethe message of the operations targeting the “Supportive Countries” interests, and make it perfectly clear that this process is:

  • Non-Violent, so they are not acts of sabotage.
  • Adopts civilized methods which will amaze the world. Accordingly, the people of the “Supportive Countries” cannot but respect this behavior, if not take its side!
  • Givesthese countries a chance to reverse there course of action, and don’t push them to be stubborn and persistent in supporting despotism, forthe act is not out of sheer hostility but rather a reaction towards the miscalculation of these countries for their future interests.
  • Conducts a dialogue with countries where activities are going to take place; therefore it won’t consider them as a threat to its security. For instance if we state: direct the activity to one of the supportive country’s national airlines, which will also include its branches in other countries. The message should be delivered clearly to those countries, where the branches are located, that they are not the targeted ones, and their safety is not a target at all. Otherwise, the people of these countries might respond deprecatingly to such activities.

Accordingly, all delivered messages resulting from methods applied to impose pressure, are balanced, and presage“the people and its will” era. Assuring that “Supportive Countries” can’t vanquish the will of the people, and their future is associated with being able to listen to what the people want. Clarifying that persisting on providing aid to dictatorships doesn’t mean preserving “Supportive Countries” own interests; on the contrary, it means not knowingly destroying them.

On the practical sphere, one or more groups can specialize in this project; hence perform the following duties:

  • Identify the vital targets (facilities, companies, products, symbols…etc.), which the “Non-Violence War” operations will be directed towards. These groups can use the internet to gather the needed information, concerning the significant targets, and can take advantage of the audience participation.
  • Put an escalating scale for targets, therefore pressure can be raised in order to increase the impact.
  • Identify the best method for handling each target, and choosing the effective tactics.
  • Formulate the civilized message and design it in a way to be reflected in the execution process, and so it expresses the “Resistance Civilized Spirit”.
  • Call upon all the human society to participate in this huge work, inaugurating the era of “People’s Power”, and synergize against all those who violates its rights. As regimes support each other in practicing injustice, it is the right of people to stand with each other in the face of regimes’ aggression.
