Huge Applause

Art of bidding farewell to ideas

Cameras rushed to capture images…I got confused…Why do people capture that scene?! Are they celebrating the sunset light or the oncoming darkness? And why does the light leave our earth through this fabulous magic, just as it does in the morning with the first ray of the sun piercing the universe?!

We are living a historic spectacle, a marvelous sunset  scene! Ideas are fading away, others, on the other hand, are coming up. Theses, leaderships, and projects are melting, while others have emerged. Generally, we are closely witnessing the end of an era and the emergence of a new one. What a splendid insight!

We should not lament the sunset scene or try to prevent its occurrence, or deceive ourselves by fixing the image a little, since the sunset holds such a beauty that is as brilliant as that of the magic sunrise which impresses us. We should, all of us, stand and give a huge round of applause to the disappearance of ideas which played a role on the stage, as we  should enthusiastically applaud the next shining ideas. It is time for those ideas to leave and let other new ideas win the public's admiration, unless it gets bored and frustrated at following the scene, as well as having the desire to take on the role of an actor rather than a spectator.

Some may applaud ideas just before walking off the stage, to show them esteem, or to precipitate their departure, or out of joy to see them declining. These motives are of no concern for us, but most importantly, we give a great round of applause to those ideas that lost their reason for existence.

The applause strategy may be used slyly to self destroy ideas. How many untalented youth have dreamed of standing on the stage and were tempted by their haters to undertake a theatre exam; but did not take longer to fail and fall, to see the dream fading into obscurity. In fact, the idea to be eliminated is duped into believing that it is on the right track, so that to prevent it from receiving any criticism and to keep conveying a distorted picture of reality and ways of addressing it, rushing into death. Each warm round of applause makes the idea more arrogant, which prevents it from putting itself into question, and every whistle of admiration means a firm push for this idea to hit the wall.

We can think in a way more  merciful, and leave a passage for the disappearing ideas to let them off, especially when we precipitate their departure, after emergence of other ideas much more mature and efficient. I imagined that actor who has just finished his role, behind him the curtain which fell down, and tries to find a way out, but the curtain looks so solid to prevent him to do so, and he got cramp. Covered with sweat, he started going back and forth, trying to find a way  in, to get behind the curtain, but in vain! As the audience burst out laughing, he started to hurl insults, and it became inevitable for the audience to follow his movements on the stage and receive that deluge of insults until the crisis was resolved.

Sometimes, it would be wise to let fading ideas get out of our world with some dignity, in order to pass through a specific channel and studied corridors, so that they may reach a museum of ideas, where they are visited by hundreds of people everyday !
