The Lion…One Target and Confident Steps

The Lion is a skillful hunter. He has a good choice of target as well as reaching it; after meeting with him we got out with the following advices:

Focus your targets: focus on your target, and select it accurately. Try to put only one in front of your eyes, and do not get dispersed among targets, even if you think they are all close to you, for the minute you run towards your target it escapes from you, this is what Lions do in front of a herd of deer; they focus on one prey. They are aware from the beginning that they will not win except one; accordingly they make a good choice.

Link the target with the capabilities: Select a target that fits your abilities, so If you aspire to a bigger one, then you have to raise your capabilities. One Lion can hunt a deer. However, if his ambition was to hunt a wild buffalo; then he needs more Lions to cooperate with him. For ambition alone will not convince the wild buffalo to surrender. Ambitions without capabilities, becomes a reason for ridicule.

Assess the needs: So,do not use a hundred for the aim that can be achieved by one person, and do not use a thousand for the one which can be achieved by one hundred. You do not need a battalion of Lions to hunt a deer. If this happens it becomes a defect in the Lions world, and a reason of pride for the deer. If Lions got used to sending a battalion to catch a deer, what will they do with the wild buffalo?! Getting used to hunting the deer by groups, means that the efficiency of the one Lion is in decline. This is a presage for each wild buffalo that he will not become a target at all.

picsConfident calmness: walk to your target with confident steps, walk quietly and do not make a noise. Emulate the Lion when he walks with confident quiet steps without spasm, approaching his prey. So, he does not run except when it is merely close to him. He bears the quiet walk, even if he drools from seeing the deer herd. His main concern is to reach his goal, not to announce that he is walking to it. He does not talk a lot about hunting, he practices it.

Do not hesitate: be confident of your abilities and your goals. Thus, if you identified your goal accurately, do not hesitate while you are walking your way to it. The Lion does not think of what is going on behind when he is about to hunt… Will he need more Lions? Will the deer surprise him by an unexpected attack? This hesitation during the walk towards the target may lead to a state of paralysis, with which you become unable to achieve any goal.

picsState clearly what you do not target: So, It is not enough to announce your goals. Declaration for spaces, characters or entities that you do not target sometimes is as important. This protects you from entering into a feud that will not be useful for you at all, or a battle which you cannot afford. This is what the Lion was keen on when he declared repeatedly that he does not attack cars, since they are not a target for him! And this is what made us go out to him in an enjoyable picnic; this is also what forced our guide in the wild to accompany us on this adventure without any weapon. We were feeling safe towards the lion, and we believed that he had the same feeling. He yawned and then slept under a tree, while we were about few meters from him, and pointing our cameras at him.

These were a group of direct lessons that he taught us during our meeting in nature, to reach our goals successfully. But there are other lessons on how to deal with the opponents, that may not have been spoken by the Lion directly, however he winked wickedly to us to guide us to it, while he was taking a look at the chest of an animal he had eaten a few minutes ago. He wanted to tell us proudly how he surpassed his rivals, and won the deer, and how he was able to make them deviate from their goal.

The following is the most important of what we concluded from his hints:

Takeyour opponent out of his resort: Do not allow your opponent to move quietly and confidently, if plotting against you, always push him to come out of his hiding place, to declare himself and his movements, and to doubt that his quiet footsteps will lead him to his destination, especially after his cover has been exposed. If his temper is troubled and confused, he begins cramping, and targets get dispersed around him.

Chaos of Targets: Put in front of your opponent a lot of attractive targets, convince himt hat they are all in his reach, and he has the ability to achieve all of them.

The Illusory Target: Draw to your opponent an illusory goal to seek for, and convince him that the battle is worth it, and show your feeling of defeat with every success he achieves; also there is nothing wrong to help him secretly to achieve victory, and then celebrate with him his victory. His Victory is through the achievement of his illusory target, and your victory is byremoving him from your way.
