“Spider’s Threads” Weapon

One of the challenges facing the “Non-Violence” movements is how to thwart the “Forces of Oppression” without violence, whether the suppression of the security forces, or of those who use violence to terrorize people, such as thugs and vandals.

Since we, at the Academy of Change, are on the search for ways to increase the human capacity and reduce his need for violence in defending himself, we started this series which are related to the development of means to face repression, hoping to contribute to sharpening the human mind to create effective tools that will prevent him from being drawn in the path of bloody violence.

Even though absolute “Non-Violence” is impossible, according to Gandhi, our role is to diminish the areas in which demonstrators have to resort to the use of violence. Hence, humanity-with the concerted efforts-is capable of maturing the “Non-Violence” tools, until that day will come when violence cannot find a loophole through which it can pass through to “Resistance”.

In this series we will present the “Spider’s Threads” weapon, which gives the “Non-Violence” resistance offensive capabilities by which it can face suppression, and open up a lacuna in the “Human Dams” of the “Oppression Forces” facing the unarmed demonstrators. This weapon depends on the use of nets in multiple tools and means, giving it indescribable power and ability, as the power of “Threads” can outperform the power of “Iron”.

The weapon of the “Spider’s Threads” is one of the “Non-Violence” war arms which relies, in all its means and methods, on the use of “Nets” including the “Gun”, “Net Cannon”, and finally the “Free Nets” in different tactics.

The Functions of this Weapon:

  • Hinder the forces of repression and subversion.
  • Non-Violent hunting of specific characters who provoke riots or over-use of repression.
  • Enable demonstrators to penetrate a security barrier.
  • Disarmament of the users of violence, whether they are within demonstrators, oppression forces, vandals or thugs.
  • Restrict and shackle those who perform the tasks of raiding houses and terrorizing innocent people.
  • Paralyze the movement of police dogs and horses that are used in the fight against demonstrations.

Net Guns:

A “Net Gun” is used to hunt animals for it cripples their ability to move. Also, it can be used to confuse the “Forces of Oppression” and to capture vandals. One of the advantages for these guns, that they don’t cause pain to the object it is pointed at, however it hampers him and enables you to capture him.

In the case of a moving target, this gun has a range of 3-20 meters, in an area of 16 cm2. The gun does not require a license, because it is used in hunting and guarding.(1)

It is preferred to use the net with the 6-inch diameter holes, because it’s the most appropriate one if the target was a human or an animal like police dogs.(2)

Types and uses of nets:

  • Small Net Gun: used to hinder only one person within a walking distance. It is suitable for the following cases :

1.To address thugs or vandals and apprehend them.

2.Raiding houses and arresting resistants.

3.Target the users of tear gas guns, or the individuals and leaders involved in the suppression.

4.Individuals who incite riot and infiltrate inside a demonstration in order to convert it to a violent path. They get hunted, then their weapons are taken, and their hands are cuffed.

5.Immobilize police dogs and houses used in the fight against demonstrations.

The above requires well-trained groups in the front rows and in vital places to confront the “Forces of Oppression”.

  • Medium Net Guns:  By which you can block two to three persons, it is also used to face vandals, home raiders, or groups within the forces of oppressing demonstrators.

  • Big Net Guns: Used for Long-Distances, and can block formations of riot police. It is possible to create lines of cannons that shoot this type of nets, if you want to block large numbers, taking into account to make a difference of about five seconds between the firing of each net, so that nets won’t overlap. This type of guns and cannons are used in these cases:

1.Block full formations from the “Forces of Oppression”, or large number of thugs and vandals.

2.The need for a first protection line preceding the demonstration, or protest from a distance to prevent the pedestrian progress of “Oppression Forces”.

3.The need to penetrate a besieged area by “Oppression Forces”, where they can be obstructed by the nets and then demonstrators proceed, overcoming the security barrier.

When there is a need for tighter controls, it is possible to fire more than one net on the same group, so that it cannot get out quickly from the overlapping nets.

  • The Upper Gun: It should be installed in a high place, and the net falls down on a group passing underneath. It can be used against the “Forces of Oppression” of demonstrators by hanging a set of nets at distant spaces forming some kind of a “Trap” for these forces. This gun can be used in these cases:

1.Same previous situations concerning blocking the “Forces of Oppression”.

2.The need for “Traps” in places where we want to drag the “Oppression Forces” to, under a bridge-a narrow street, so that it can be used as a trap.

3.Maintain a location of an open-ended sit in, which can be secured by hanging the nets by ropes and launch it in the case of occupying the place by “groups inciting riot” or by “Forces of Oppression”.
